The inauguration of the first month during the most caloric season has come and gone. For the high angelic corner of the Eden Elysium universe, it was a progression both rapid and pleasant. From the signaling of the fireworks and tricks of magic in the dusk sky of the primary diurnal of Junes to the stroke of the newborn’s moment for the next month Julliard, many events have become memorable. One such moment was the grand ball in the throne level of the Castillo de Tarsus Coelho. The white marble walls and pillars were scrubbed and dubbed with chalk essence from the highest quarries of Sarsen and the spermatozoa of quartz quakes from Cairn. The exteriors of metal decorates were burnished with the fermented platinum and gold of Pewter Smithy. The air was infused with the fragrance of the monsoon rains and apple dandelions – a combination found to be stimulating for the beginning of any sophisticated event.
The guests were of course on their best behavior garbed in their best attire attributed to this very important commemoration of the Jubilee. Following the statutes of sigils and marquees declared in establishment of the Eden Elysium universe, primarily its high angelic corner, the prestige and importance of individuals is expressed by fashions either important or diminutive. Certain guests such as the members of the Shabby and Shod Districts or the Bennett Household were dressed to the nines – a sign of poverty. Others such as Lady Castanet, Hamlet, and of course Darcy displayed more of their finely washed and oiled skin. Some were of such high stature that they were granted the highest honor of bearing no upper garment. All the gentlemen admired the simple yet ample breasts of Duchess Natalie Knightly while the ladies fawned over Baron Brad Depp. To the disdain of others, Lady Rosanne O’Donnell was of one of the three highest in marquee and sigil. Ergo she presented herself like the coagulation of unused animal product oozing over half of a wrapping used for sausages.
Even though the attires were of admiration, they were of little significance to the apparel worn among everyone signifying this Jubilee to be known as the Masquerade. They were paper faces on parade which patrons could refuge their true face. All this was done for decorum so the world could not recognize them though some wore headdresses more so than masks.
The far end of the throne floor was where the low throne of the bema was positioned. The triune of stained glass windows behind it were artistically crafted to fine perfection. The right window honored the Spirit of the Obedient Servants. The window in the center glorified and magnified the Father of Angels and Adam. The window on the right recognized the King of Lords and Lord of Kings seated at the right hand of the Father of Angels and Adam. In the low throne of the bema was parked the most important individual living in the Eden Elysium universe, High Baron Hosea von Alpha. Because of his establishment and position, he is required to wear the attire of his importance determined presently by time. He observed the revelry before him and closed his eyes activating his mind’s visual capabilities of observing the other areas of his home. All twenty dining rooms within the first to fifth levels were filled with patrons partaking in conversation while indulging in the endless constant of fare being waited. Maidens of tidying and butlers of servitude worked relentlessly on the magical inclusion of two thousand bed chambers each with private bathing rooms along with five hundred more rooms of digestive depositing.
The one thing Hosea von Alpha saw which should be disgusting but instead brought a smile to his face was Lady Rosanne O’Donnell fornicating with Baron Brad Depp. This proved to be a beacon that anyone’s preferance is of a desire that one may only understand and this individuality is what makes living among others of this species so worthwhile and entertaining.
“Excuse me brother but we seem to have a problem,” a woman’s voice sounded.
Hosea von Alpha opened his eyes being greeted with the visage of his sister Rissa de Polaris. Inwardly, he was thankful she was associated with him resulting she wear the important attire he was designed to wear too only fitted for a woman. The Masquerade would be most awkward if he were to see his sister with her upper half unhindered for continuance.
“What is the problem Rissa,” Hosea von Alpha asked.
“There is a situation in the Annexation of Puerto Rico,” Rissa said.
Hosea von Alpha took an inhale of the fragrant air while shaking his head. “Lead the way to this squalor if you may sister.”
Rissa bowed her head as Hosea von Alpha stood from the low throne of the bema. Everyone in front of him turned. He nodded in formality which is connotation for everyone to revert to their revelry. He followed Rissa through the side door into the right wing hallway. Other guested patrons positioned themselves out of respect to the position of importance while the seemingly endless line of maidens in waiting remained immobile in the tranquility of their own position. Each of them unclothed from the waist up with their areolas covered with pasties each with a hanging crystal squeezed their ample breasts together to hold a single wine glass filled with Direwolf Essence. Hosea von Alpha removed one from the breasts of a maiden, took a tiny sip, and handed it off to Rissa who in turn handed it off to a passing butler. The butler knew to keep the wine glass intact and to bottle the remaining Direwolf Essence for by orders of Gomer Wanderlust, such mere trinkets used minimally by Hosea von Alpha would be auctioned which the currency would all go to provision for widows, homeless, and orphans. The maiden who had the wine glass removed from her hold joined the butler in heading back to the kitchen to receive another for her ampleness to clasp.
After a sixpence of moments passing by, Hosea von Alpha and Rissa de Polaris arrived at the Annexation of Puerto Rico – a semi-small, semi-medium room created for the most important of the important people in any marquee. Three-fourths of the room from the ceiling down was made strictly of glass intricately assembled to represent the twelve angels of the hierarchy coming to a singular point at the very apex of the room’s ceiling where an oculus would at times appear during days the Sun of the Preceding, Sun of the Contemporary, and the Sun of the Imminent patina in cooperative unison. Exotic plants and trees were tended along the sides of the wall as well as planters floating within the room’s space. A single mahogany tabletop held by petrified visages of the traitors Atlas and Prometheus displayed trays of exotic vegetables, miniature foods which could fit within two fingers of one hand, and glasses of Direwolf Essence, Halogen Milk, and ordinary spring water. The spring water was a very unpopular commodity.
It was the scenario on the far end of the table in which Rissa de Polaris wanted Hosea von Alpha’s deliberation for. An inept gentleman was on his knees whimpering in agony while holding his two fingers of his right hand with his left. In front of him standing with an aura of importance and dominance was Kassandra Leigh, Queen of House White Wolf.
“Woman what transgression have you committed this time?” Hosea von Alpha questioned angrily.
“Before you even judge Hosea, try understanding the situation,” Kassandra countered.
“The disrespectful wench attacked me for that is what happened,” bawled the man on his knees. “It is quite unbelievable that such a harlot would be one of the queens for one of the major houses of lore and governance.”
Hosea von Alpha gave a penetrating stare to Kassandra who returned it in kind. At this moment, everyone in attendance to the situation was more shocked that Kassandra would address Hosea von Alpha so casually as well as keep a solid foundation in opposition to his authority. It is as if the prior incident was of no importance.
“Present your injury,” Hosea von Alpha commanded.
The man on the ground removed his hold on his two fingers. They were sheathed in a absolute of ice. Hosea von Alpha studied the man’s expression while wrapping his own hand around the frozen fingers of the poor victimized chap before him.
“Please explain to me what happened,” Hosea von Alpha asked.
The man whimpered a little more before continuing his explanation of the partaking in the prior circumstance.
“She froze my fingers,” he said. “I was just posing with her to receive a cube of memory from a passing photographer. Suddenly she got angry and froze my fingers!”
“Fabrications you miserable heathen!” screamed Kassandra.
“Kassandra you shall keep your tongue civil,” Hosea von Alpha commanded.
“But Hosea…you don’t understand!”
“Those are your orders woman!”
Kassandra never answered. Instead, she smoldered of rage though it would be a cold existence due to her maximum lacking of temperature.
“Now that the annoyance of second parties has been quieted, do you stand by what you have said?” Hosea von Alpha asked.
“Yes High Baron! That…harlot…she…she attacked me for no reason!” the man said.
Hosea von Alpha penetrated the man’s eyes with a stare which could bring fear to the most petrified statues. He frowned and turned to the other attendees.
“I command that someone explain to me what really happened,” Hosea von Alpha roared.
A tiny woman, starting to show the advancement of her age, stepped forward. The man kept bickering that she is nothing more than an untruthful person. She leaned in and whispered into Hosea von Alpha’s ear in which after she stated her words, his furrow deepened.
“I swear to you High Baron! That old lady is a jolly good fibber!” the man panicked.
“Then we should acquire the opinion of another! Another shall step up and let me know about the situation,” Hosea von Alpha bellowed.
Another woman stepped up to explain what she perceived to him. Hosea von Alpha showed no emotion but his intentions upon realizing the truth was met with sweet justice and delicious revenge for Kassandra as she stared at the towering spire of ice reaching through the oculus. Within it, she could see the contorted figure of the man who had wronged her within. His eyes were moving showing everyone that he was still alive.
“A woman – especially a Queen – is to be cherished and loved and cared for. All should respect women in general lest they decline themselves for the sake of their own disrespect to authority. Weak man, you are at fault for touching a part of Kassandra, you are not allowed to.”
Kassandra smiled for the situation came to fruition on a conclusion. “You see I am honest Hosea so why deny my integrity?”
“It is because you have failed to present anything of integrity prior to this!” Hosea von Alpha answered.
“That is poppycock! Enlighten me with such endeavors.”
“You froze the entire grand ballroom floor so you could skate on ice!”
“The young guests liked it.”
“How about freezing the bowls of hand dipping water while patrons were dipping their hands in the water?”
“Ice cleans better than water alone.”
“You set fire to Andromeda Arachne’s papier-mâché float!”
“I thought that horrendous thing she created was a monster! I was holding candelabra at the time and tried to fight it off!”
“It was shaped like a bunny-eared goonies pig.”
“And that is the scariest thing I have ever seen.”
The bantering between Hosea von Alpha and Kassandra continued for the rest of the night and the day after and the night after that. All the festivities and events within that period were given little attention for the two acting like an ancient couple in nuptials provided it. Gomer Wanderlust took advantage of the situation selling the best positions to observe the banter.
“I cannot believe that happened,” Hosea von Alpha said to himself bringing back the present period.
Those events were of a memory preserved of happiness as Hosea von Alpha progressed silently through the Kraken’s Posterior Tentacle – the name given to the rear hallway leading to the terminus of the second month of the Jubilee. Julliard the month in which the high point of the Sun of the Preceding, Sun of the Contemporary, and the Sun of the Imminent would appear one on top of another like a humid glowworm. Such the season of summer is a sophisticated arrangement of blistering. To some it is quite unbearable, especially Kassandra.
Edge de Fuujin devised a solution to avoid this dilemma by moving the party underwater. Lagos Trawl Centre is a unique kind of ocean under the overlooking of Castillo de Taurus Coelho. It is the central point for all oceans, rivers, streams, and other bodies of water in the entire universe by being magically connected through aquatic wormholes which pre-existed way before Hosea von Alpha took settlement. To some, it was an ancient art created and perfected by the transforming mermaids since it is only they who could control magic while the mermen controlled more practical endeavors of the waters. This would be the function necessary for the meeting point for the Liquid Gala of the Masquerade.
Hosea von Alpha finally arrived at a pair of double-doors made of coquina rock, pearl, and shaped into the form of elegant conch seashells. They opened as if they knew the importance of the person standing before them. Inside, the festivities were already in full circle as patrons turned to face Hosea von Alpha. Everyone either formally fawned or curtsied with the exception of Kassandra who kept her composure in the midst of the forms of three ladies-in-waiting, who dared not be bold as their master. Hosea von Alpha took notice of Kassandra’s insubordination but expected it too knowing the condition of their relationship. He then nodded in response to everyone’s expression of admiration than fulfilled his duties as master of ceremonies by accompanying his guests.
While chatting with the Duke of Dingleberry and the Duchess of Dorkshire, Hosea von Alpha took a moment to admire the collaborative exertion of Gomer Wanderlust, Andromeda Arachne, and Edge de Fuujin. The Kraken’s Skull Galley is a large ballroom made off of the floor of the Lagos Trawl Centre. The sands have been fashioned into delicately lustrous tile with a fountain of “Captain Nemo” clownfish statues squirting water onto an icicle shaped like an anchor. A man frozen inside the anchor sculpture blinked frantically desiring escape. On the outer ridge of the galley were tables of scrumptious vittles of a marine nature. Patrons of the party would simply point to one of the numerous living animals outside within the lake and one of the household servants would simply go out and angle, kill, prepare, then serve it. The design of the galley made this prospect easier since there were no walls or ceilings despite being underwater. Edge de Fuujin used his magic to create a huge filtering air bubble on the floor to serve as the walls and ceiling of the galley. Observing the hunt through the bubble has become a means of entertainment.
“A blessed first of Julliard,” Kassandra said breaking Hosea von Alpha’s contemplation.
“Vice versa for you too,” he responded in kind.
“Enlighten me? Why isn’t the most palatable morsel of the sea unavailable?”
The question was more of a nuance of a nuisance than something of integral curiosity. The only reason Kassandra would ask such a question was to cause a wiling since she knew the answer to the question already. However, Hosea von Alpha would not receive the satisfactory luxury of retaliation as the sound of trumpets resounded throughout the galley. A thin man with lanky muscles walked through the galley wall separating the sea from the air of the room. He wore multiple seashells, a beautifully crafted vest of seaweed from the rivers of Brackish. His tights were made of interwoven leaves of starfish silk from the harbor waters of Froth. His hair was metro-sexually styled in multiple braids, dyes, and glitter. He was also accompanied by six others like him except they were overly muscular like incarnate statues of Adonis.
“Good tidings to you High Baron Hosea von Alpha!” the thin man said. “It is my pleasure to introduce you to…”
“Please cease. High Baron Hosea von Alpha and I are of the highest form of relationship sans that of a marriage. There is no need for such a frilly introduction,” a woman’s voice resounded throughout the galley.
Hosea von Alpha smiled. The voice brought back memories of a time with someone he venerated – a woman in which their relationship expresses beyond parameters to unconditional. The voice eventually accompanied the formation of a beautiful woman moving through the water majestically towards the wall of the galley. She wore slight slivers of golden jellyfish webbing on her forearms and calves yet was barefooted. A belt of coral with a sea anemone on her right side wrapped around her finely shaped waist. The final detail is the headdress of a tang on her head cradling her delicate face and aquamarine hair. Besides all of that, her body’s natural and succulent beauty was unhindered for all to admire ranging from her hips supplely designed to produce to the tightness of her midriff to the firmness of her mammary delights. She came in with her body unhindered which meant one thing.
“Ladies and gentlemen and honored guests, it is with greatest pride and deepest pleasure to present to you Vivka the Vivid, Queen of House Blue Tang,” Hosea von Alpha announced.
A disordered disarray of applause became the answer for the announcement. Vivka presented a visage of normalcy despite how flattered and embarrassed she felt deep inside. She closed her eyes and passed through the wall of the bubble into the air of the galley. Once inside, she opened her eyes tranquilly and seemed to float up to where Hosea von Alpha and Kassandra were positioned. Every move she made had an aura of grace and divinity.
“High Baron, you have my thanks for the warmest of introductions,” Vivka said. “How has your life been since our last episode of an acquaintance?”
Hosea von Alpha extended his arm out in which Vivka hooked her arm with before strolling among the guests.
“All has been well and progression unceasing. It is not for praise for that belongs to the Lord,” Hosea von Alpha answered.
“You’ve always took the humility of placing God before yourself.”
“I am but a servant.”
“An admirable trait which christens you king.”
“That is silly of you. I am no king!”
“Believe what you want to believe…High Baron.”
Even though his face displayed otherwise, Hosea von Alpha felt a present admiration. The history of both Vivka and her people, known as the Ark Builders, are genuinely virtuous and revered. Many generations ago, probably beyond the extend of centuries, the Eden Elysium universe fell to a state of lustful vengeance, murderous anger, and wanton blasphemy against the creator of all things, the Father of Angels and Adam. Though loving and passionate, a saddened regret formed in the heart of the Father. Even though He was pained to do so, a decision was decided to destroy all of the Eden Elysium universe with a deluge flooding to the four corners of all space and eternity. The one exception however was the merpeople of the eastern planets of Aqueduct and Agua. These planets collectively are now known as the Ark Liner of Eden Elysium. The reason for the name is the leader of the merpeople during that time, Noah Albino, remained faithful to the Father. In return, the Father commanded Noah to provide enough sustenance and safety for forty days and forty nights for a pair from each part of the universe. Two by two couples would show up explaining how they were guided by the Father. Within the year, a pair of every species and nation from the very limits of Eden Elysium assembled within the Ark Liner. The Father than fulfilled His promise conjuring forth a deluge. It consumed all who were not safe in the Ark. In conclusion, because of the loyalty of certain individuals to the Father of Angels and Adam, the deluge was no longer a cleaning of the slate but a purging of atrocities and abominations.
Though not as honorable or devout as Noah story, Vivka’s story is also very dignified and upright. Unlike the other Houses of Governance, House Blue Tang is the only one to go back to the very beginning of civilization for the universe being direct descendants of Adam and Lilith-Eve. Because of this, it is this house which is said to have a direct connection to Eva the Father of Angels and Adam. Through His guidance, the current leader of Blue Tang would procure spiritual guidance in being the principal over the people. When Hosea von Alpha started to lead his armada to settling the constraint of peace among the universe, he had the hardest time against House Blue Tang because of their Queen, Vivka. She had a demeanor of the kindest mercy of angels but an aura of aggressive punctuality and protectiveness. Listening to the council of her people, she chose to fight against Hosea von Alpha favoring the people’s choice for freedom over tyranny. Even though House Blue Tang has survived the ages, it and its people associated with it suffered countless centuries of persecution and suffering.
The many armies Hosea von Alpha had procured over the many victories bringing peace did nothing against the aquatic battleground of the seas. Merpeople move majestically on both land and sea but a regular person would be significantly hindered within the waters of the planets of the Ark Liner of the Eden Elysium. Scores of soldiers were missing in action. However, numerous reports have shown through Vivka’s grace, they were captured and imprisoned. Even though, the soldiers were treated with respect, fed and nurtured for, and given free enterprise within the confines of their prison. Vivka did not believe in torture and pain though she was the celestial song of a war maiden. When Hosea von Alpha received this form of an olive branch about his people, his respect overflowed tenfold for the Queen of House Blue Tang. He asked for a formality of a meeting in which she accepted. Overlooking a sunset on the patio of small fortress-like hotel used for a zone of neutrality, they talked, laughed, and discussed such wonderful matters of the body, mind, and soul. In the conclusion of their meeting, they both agreed this is a war which must fulfill itself to its finale. Vivka osculated Hosea von Alpha gently before falling backwards over the balcony. Hosea von Alpha hustled to the edge which Vivka went over just to see calm waters below. After a few moments, he touched his lips – the very ones that tasted the combination of sweet and saltiness from Vivka’s lips – and knew this war could not go on for he could not be sentient fighting against someone so angelic. This moment on, there was a line crossed, a relationship established, something more so than anything common among the normality of a basic rapport.
Over the next seven days, Hosea von Alpha would send a letter to Vivka requesting surrender promising all shall be within peace. She declined politely. After a week, Hosea von Alpha had no choice as he himself descended into the depths of the oceans of Aqueduct. The merpeople soldiers were surprised to find that only he descended. It was one singular man against one of the best-trained militaries in the universe. When Vivka received word of this, she was in a state of disbelief but still ordered to subdue and capture anyone who opposed her people, even if it happens to be Hosea von Alpha. Vivka observed with her consorts, ladies of the meeting room, gentlemen of the grounds, and other important individuals of commerce the fight taking place on Aqueduct. She was actually on Agua in her battle throne room, the Reef of Requiem. In less than ten seconds, relayed messages of struggle and surrender echoed through the room. In the white noise of the messages for assistance, regrouping, but mostly retreat, the screams of failure and defeat could be heard. Suddenly the man’s voice on the message gurgled to a high pitch before being cut off. Five seconds passed. Then Hosea von Alpha could be heard clearly among everyone.
“Vivka the Vivid, Queen of House Blue Tang. It is I, Hosea von Alpha. You have disagreed to accept the formality of my peace but I beseech you to reconsider for one last time. Please Vivka! Do this for your people right now,” Hosea von Alpha pleaded.
“I…I…I still…decline,” Vivka said showing a sudden fear she hadn’t felt through the tone of her voice. “I must follow the desires of my people for a great leader is one who is a great servant to their people.”
“You ring yourself admirable and true. Know that I am now destined to put an end to this. I will see you soon Queen of House Blue Tang.”
“I will fight for my people and my people will…”
Vivka never got the chance to finish her retort. She watched as the entire planet of Aqueduct in the distance within the sky froze over. In less than five seconds, It became nothing more than a floating sphere of ice in space. Vivka was next to freeze, but it wasn’t from cold but from fear. She underestimated the power Hosea von Alpha had and felt her people would not be able to recover from such a battle. Everything happened so painfully fast, a monumental moment of disbelief resulted in a loss of composure. The implosion of the large coquina double-doors of the entryway shook her back to the present moment. The dust cleared revealing the one person Vivka was unprepared to see at this twinkling in time: Hosea von Alpha.
“Gu-gu-guards! Stop him!” Vivka frighteningly commanded.
The fifteen guards in the room assembled in defense formations but the evidence upon their body language proved their fragile fears. Hosea simply formed a half-smile of the most sadistic intentions which sent half of the guards cowardly fleeing. The other half felt the wrath of his power as he pounded the ground sending an explosive wave of kinetic force expelling everyone – the remaining guards, the couriers of court, the ladies in waiting, and other important members of high sigil, high class, or high marquee – into the distance of space. The Reef of Requiem was redesigned in shatters of broken coral and coquina and shards of statues. Vivka remained planted in place with her head covered. She lifted from her defensive position. Hosea von Alpha towered before her like the last judgment. A stumbling retreat was achieved while summoning the trident of her ancestors.
“Stay back Hosea! I’m…I’m…warning you!” Vivka said meekly.
It was a pitiful moment in her life. Vivka realized that she – the mighty and graceful war maiden and Queen of Blue Tang, ruler of this part of the Eden Elysium universe – was terrified beyond her understanding. The man before her was not the honest and wonderful man she conversed nonchalantly with just one week ago. Though the body, soul, and spirit from that previous encounter are the same, Hosea von Alpha is not the same. He shook his head in disbelief as he forcibly acquired the trident from her possession despite her expertise in combat. An attempt to abscond became abortive. Vivka felt a hand upon the side of her face. It was gentle and strong at the same time but the comforting nature of this hand would prove nothing to the fear she felt.
“Please Hosea. Spare my people,” Vivka requested feeling this would be her last request.
“Do you finally submit to me and my authority?” Hosea asked with authority yet soothing comfort.
Vivka turned her eyes to meet with Hosea’s. A tiny remembering of their most pleasant supper gleamed across her mind. As the sixtieths passed, more of her antagonizing distress diminished. She didn’t know why but a willing to submit became a viable option.
“I do,” Vivka answered unsure on why she is submitting.
Hosea provided a genuine smile which in turn provided restful relief. He snapped his fingers in which the sound echoed off what little walls stood. Vivka observed with admirable surprise as the Reef of Requiem magically assembled itself like a vegetative plant surviving eons through adaptation and self-healing. The statues were statues again instead of piles of discarded rubble on the floor. The pillars extended up to a domed ceiling consisting of numerous species of coral kept alive by Vivka’s own magical abilities. The double-doors formed back into their original grandiose presentation.
The next miracle Hosea performed was restoring Aqueduct back to its formal oceanic glory. Vivka observed with tears of joy as her homeworld became fruitful and alive again. It was no longer a dead planet but a planet like its humble beginnings.
“Hello? Hello?! Ma’am are you there?” a voice from space screamed.
“I…I am here,” Vivka answered realizing communications were established.
“It’s a miracle! Everyone is alive and accounted for. Hosea von Alpha is nowhere to be found though. Did we actually…win?”
Vivka looked back at Hosea. He was formalized in position yet accommodating. More tears came to her eyes knowing that in the beginning she should have submitted. Was it for the desire of her people or her pride that made her go against someone who believed in the peace and the authority of the Father of Angels and Adam? It didn’t matter anymore.
“In a way…we did,” she said.
“Such a beautiful entrance Vivka,” Kassandra said interrupting Hosea’s reminiscing. “So…did you bring the caviar?”
Vivka’s face transformed from serene grace to a mask of anger not even her waterproof papier-mâché blue tang mask could conceal.
“I have disciplined myself to never participate in that horrendous punishment. Even Hosea here has granted me permission that as long as the conditions are of abstinence, I don’t have to provide to its output,” Vivka answered.
Kassandra became livid. Hosea remained calm. He knew of what Kassandra anticipated and he himself found it barbaric. It is regrettable on his behalf to have buttressed the decision of punishment by the Queen of House White Wolf for the Queen of House Blue Tang knowing how sadistic Kassandra could be. During an earlier establishment of the Ark Liner with its trade and commerce among other parts of the Eden Elysium universe, Kassandra escorted Hosea on what trade could happen with her world. Vivka wanted nothing Kassandra’s world had to offer but the merpeople had a hankering for Direwolf Essence. In the end, Vivka agreed to purchase the filthy and volatile liquid. In trade exchange, Vivka promised a favor in return. On Kassandra’s fifth visit bringing a brand new batch of Direwolf Essence to the citizens of the Ark Liner of Eden Elysium, she walked with Vivka discussing what possible terms of their deal could be progressed. The waters of Aqua and Aqueduct had fine minerals only the richest and most prosperous oceans could form and an ecosystem of delectable sea creatures of the most sensitive and unique palettes. Kassandra harbored miniscule interested in any of those. It was then they approached a ceremony by the beach heralded by a priest serving the Father of Angels and Adam with numerous women dressed in dark shades of blue and darker shades of purple.
“Tell me Vivka, what are they doing?” Kassandra asked.
“They are sending the unfertilized eggs of our people to foam in the sea. Though not destined to become merpeople, the eggs are treated with respect as they return to the sea foam in which they came. All merpeople have been made from the foam just like all land dwellers come from the dust and the sand,” she explained.
Kassandra procured a glint in her eye. Vivka noticed it but didn’t take much account to why it did so in the first place. As she brought Kassandra closer to the ceremony, Vivka noticed a twinge of hunger within her guest. Once again, she didn’t know why until Kassandra picked up one of the eggs. This act halted the ceremony as all in attendance observed in anticipation on what was to happen.
“On my planet, we have a delicacy known as caviar. It is the name given to the salted eggs of our fish. We serve them on flat bread and crackers,” Kassandra explained. “I wonder if this here in my hands…is similar.”
Vivka petrified in horror as she watched Kassandra bite into the egg. The priest and women screamed as they tried to gather the rest of their eggs from the possible clutches of Kassandra’s reach.
“Wha…what are you…doing?!” Vivka screamed.
“By my Father you’ve been hiding this delicacy from me?” Kassandra said while the entrails of the egg dripped from her chin. “The flavor is exquisite and I feel my powers bubbling to a breaking point! This is amazing!”
“You can’t do that! Oh my Father! That is disgusting!”
“What? It’s not alive.”
“But the egg deserves to go back to hence it came. We do not treat our eggs like a breakfast commodity.”
“Well you will now.”
“You can’t make me. I will fight you to prevent this...this…abortion!”
“Remember our deal. You promised me a favor in return right?”
“No…No! You can’t! You won’t! I’ll go to Hosea about this!”
“You’ll find that Hosea even bends down to the authority of one’s integrity despite how despicable it could possibly be.”
Vivka turned away in anger to assist the women in caring for the remainder of the eggs while Kassandra sauntered back victoriously to her guest quarters while finishing off the egg in her hands. Two days later, Hosea gathered with both Vivka and Kassandra in the Reef of Requiem. Vivka explained her side of the ordeal stating atrocities and transgressions while Kassandra explained the finite details of her agreement with Vivka. In the end, Hosea had to take the favor of Kassandra. It was evidently true he would support a person’s integrity even if such integrity catered to sin nature. However, he did bargain with the agreement by having only the eggs of one woman be given in the barter. That woman would be chosen directly by Kassandra herself.
“In that case Vivka, may I ask how many eggs you produce?” Kassandra asked clearly showing her intent.
“I…I…only…Hosea please!” Vivka begged.
“Please answer her question,” Hosea commanded.
Vivka pleaded with Hosea to cease Kassandra’s ferocious requirements but Hosea stood on resilience.
“Three or four hundred a year,” Vivka answered sadly.
“That’s a lot! I bet I can take advantage of this!” Kassandra said enthusiastically. “Do you have any on you now?”
Vivka remained silent too hurt to fight back but hoping the question presented could be unheeded.
“There are twenty-five in reserve to join the sea,” Hosea said.
Vivka turned abruptly towards Hosea feeling a stinging pang of anguish brought only through betrayal.
“Then I will take them with me back home. My people will enjoy this new delicacy,” Kassandra said while formally bowing towards Hosea.
“To verify, as long as Vivka’s body is willing and able to, every egg she produces will now be exported to you. Do you agree to the terms Kassandra?” Hosea asked.
Kassandra contemplated for a moment wondering if there were any hidden inquiries about the verbal contract. She found none and agreed before making her exit. Once Kassanda was absent, Vivka showed her displeasure with Hosea as she pounded her fists upon his chests. She felt cheated and betrayed. After he calmed her down a bit, Hosea explained that the merpeople are driven by the integrity bestowed upon them by the Father of Angels and Adam. He also explained how foolproof her deal with Kassandra is. He had to find a loophole of some kind or at least make one in which he detailed the part where Vivka’s body needed to be both “willing” and “able”. He then took Vivka close and embraced her promising to attain a way for her body to not be able to produce eggs to the decadent delight of Kassandra’s merciless taste.
The first option garnered was to tie Vivka’s fallopian tubes. She however showed her distress expressing her desire to bear children one day. The second option would be hard to attain and require much sacrifice and work. Vivka needed to change her lifestyle by working out and changing her diet. The first step was to ban all Direwolf Essence from her home. It was soon discovered the ghastly liquid had a chemical and mineral makeup which would make a mermaid produce an egg in less than five minutes after consumption. Another step was no meat. Finally, Vivka needed to exercise in the sweltering part of the day six days a week. Gomer Wanderlust would make pilgrimages to report Vivka’s progress. Sometimes, Hosea would stop by to support her in any way he could. He made his promise and kept to it. It took two years and the suffering of offering up six hundred and fifty-five eggs to Kassandra but success was attained. As long as Vivka remained on a diet from certain foods and exercised aggressively for six days a week, her cycle would not produce any eggs. After hearing word of this, Kassandra became even more livid and went to Hosea about the situation in which he confirmed that Vivka stayed within the parameters of the agreement. In response, Kassandra ceased all trade of Direwolf Essence to the Ark Liner of the Eden Elysium universe. Vivka did not mind for she found it to be a bane upon her people.
“Your eggs are quite missed,” Kassandra said. “Royal caviar was such a wonderful export from my land in which numerous rich-type gentiles and Pharisees found them to be an enticing offering like manna.”
“Your luxuries with my eggs are no longer a pleasure you will ever endure,” Vivka retaliated. “As long as my body is unable to produce them, they are safe.”
“You shall falter. Nobody is perfect.”
“This is why I have companionship with someone who cares about me so much to make sure I don’t go astray from the straight and narrow path,” Vivka said while wrapping her arm around Hosea’s.
Kassandra turned and disappeared into the crowd away from the eyes of both the Queen of House Blue Tang and the High Baron. The remaining members of the party then conversed diligently and fluently on passions and business, love and hate, friendship and relationships, hopes and dreams, and everything else in between. An hour passed and a expansive thirsting built within Hosea von Alpha. He ordered for a glass of white grape wine and a glass of spring water to be fetched to him. Upon arrival, he took the white grape wine and handed the spring water to Vivka.
“A toast to our relationship on this first day of Julliard here in the Masquerade,” Hosea said.
“I approve High Baron,” Vivka followed up with.
Their glasses chimed along with many others who have participated in the toast as they took a sip of their beverages. A face of disconcert formed on Vivka’s face after she took a sip of her drink.
“Hosea, this beverage doesn’t taste like spring water. Are you sure you gave me the right drink?” Vivka asked.
An emotion of seriousness spread through him as Hosea quickly removed the glass from Vivka’s hands and took a sip. His face began to frown for he now knew what it is Vivka just took a sip of. Her doubling over in agony proved it all. Vivka just sipped Direwolf Essence. It had been many years but Vivka remembered this pain she felt shooting through her abdomen. It was familiar but unfelt for so long. Tears streaked her beautiful face as she looked up. Though Hosea tried to comfort her, all she could see were the piercing eyes of Kassandra who in turned wetted her lips in anticipation for a delicacy she had been deprived of for many years.
“Do it Vivka! Give me my caviar,” Kassandra said.
“No! No! I…I…musn’t! Oh God! How…how could you!” Vivka said painfully on her knees.
The birthing pains pulsed through her violantly. She screamed in agony as a blue orb the size of a small desk globe covered in a sticky film yet producing an aroma like fresh flowers expelled from her womanhood. Kassandra sprinted for the egg but Vivka, despite the pain coursing through her body after giving birth to an unfertilized egg, snatched it away at the last second and tried to retreat. Kassandra snapped her fingers freezing the bubble around them. Vivka could not escape into the sea. She was now trapped inside with her unfertilized egg in her hands and a sadistic cannibal in pursuit of her.
All in attendance retreated either through the doorways or to the sides of the frozen bubble to observe the spectacle happening between the Queens of House White Wolf and House Blue Tang.
“Please Kassandra! Spare me this one. I know about our deal but please…just once,” Vivka begged.
Kassandra provided deaf ears for Vivka’s pleas as she advanced menacingly towards. She was halted by Hosea who she believed to be taking her side remember he always supported integrity even it if meant displeasure.
“Calm her down and make her give up that egg!” Kassandra commanded clearly stepping beyond her authority.
Hosea took no record or account of Kassandra’s overstep as he turned and approached Vivka. She begged him for mercy for her egg and to grant it a resting place with the foam of the sea instead of an inappropriate burial in pieces inside the stomach of a stranger. Hosea leaned in closely and touched foreheads with Vivka’s. His lips were mere infinites away of space and time from hers.
“Trust me Vivka. Trust that all shall be fine,” Hosea said.
Vivka nodded but could not cease herself from producing tears. Hosea’s hand lightly held her face while his breathing became labored. The other guests in the room started to whisper in which Vivka tried to figure out why. She than journeyed her eyes down Hosea’s body and realized his right hand was hidden within his trousers. The frantic movement gave both proof and witness at what inappropriate action he partook in at the moment is doing.
“Hosea…I…I…you’re…embarrassing….me,” Vivka tried to explain unsure to respond to Hosea’s actions.
“Trust me…just trust…ahh…me,” Hosea said while his left hand travelled from Vivka’s face to her right breast.
The attended started to speak with more volume. Even Kassandra was muted and unable to use sarcastic wit while Hosea tweaked Vivka’s nipple. A moment passed however as she made a snarky remark about how Vivka was Hosea’s favorite and this proved it despite the fact he lost all decency and could not even wait for the seclusion and privacy of a personal quarter. Hosea answered by stroking harder and faster knowing he was at the point of no return very soon. He asked for Vivka’s forgiveness for the crassness he would endure on her. He however explained this needed to be done quickly for he is vulnerable but more so emotionally than physically. Vivka didn’t understand until she felt Hosea’s hand travel even lower to her fertile regions. She felt two fingers enter her repeatedly. The sensitivity of her womanhood as well as the initial shock was too much for her to even respond. The whispers escalated to outright gossip. Even Kassandra became unglued sputtering inconsistent ramblings.
With one final stroke, Hosea seemed to release as his breathing slowed. Vivka felt so much embarrassment and shame that Hosea would even use her like this. He kept apologizing vivaciously saying this had to be done and only she could have made him do this. Once again, Vivka was unsure and unaware for she felt the disgustingness of whoredom. Her face was reddened to that of the burning of the sun and she dared not communicate anything to cause any rumor about the present situation. She instead than watched as Hosea produced his right hand which was now sticky with the dangerous liquid fragrant with the flavor of vanilla used to seed a woman. Vivka stared at his hand along with everyone else not knowing what he would do. Than all came to understanding as he placed it flush against the egg within Vivka’s embrace. She saw the vital essence only a man can provide for an egg pulse through it. The color of the egg changed from blue to orange signifying fertilization. The egg was alive and Vivka, along with everyone else including Kassandra, realized she is now a mother. What is more is the realization that High Baron Hosea von Alpha is the father.
“You…you tricked me!” Kassandra screamed.
“Silence! I will not take any of your sarcasm today,” Hosea screamed showing his authority.
Everyone in attendance including Kassandra stopped for this moment was meant for both Hosea and Vivka.
“I am so sorry for shaming you like this. Please forgive me my Lady,” Hosea begged.
“Your Lady? I’m…your lady?” Vivka said with surprise.
“And the mother of our child,” Hosea added. “I cannot think of anyone more fit to be the mother of my child or the woman to spend eternity with…than you. I know our beginnings on intimacy are a bit awkward so let me at least say this.”
Hosea leaned closely, his face only mere infinities away from Vivka. He smiled as he looked deeply into her eyes.
“I love you, and I always have since that first meeting. I am so sorry for being so weak to not let you know ahead of time. You will not belong to anyone and I will always be for you even though I am not worthy.”
Vivka became taciturn to words but the joy felt was unbelievable out of pure ecstasy. She was going to be the High Baroness but more importantly, the woman matrimonially by Hosea’s side. She never admitted her daydreams and fantasies to anyone about this personal hope but this is no longer such. This is reality as she tasted Hosea’s lips in a genuine kiss. The days of pretending to be just a formal servant to the High Baron are over. She could now express her passion and love with no restriction. That day when she submitted to Hosea’s authority was the beginning. She struggled and suffered until this present day on the first of Julliard for it is today she submitted everything to a man who would be loyal to her just like the Father of Angels and Adam is to the Ark Builders or the King of Lords and the Lord of Kings is to the Tabernacle of Salvation.
Applause resounded as men expressed how brave Hosea is to protect his wife even beyond marriage and women nattered about how romantic Hosea is to swoop in and accomodate her in her time of necessity during against a moment of tyranny. Kassandra could not be found anywhere but in the recess of darkness, she deliberated clearly but not on the loss of her delicacy. Instead she contemplated this one fact: how much would someone barter to have a link to the statute of the High Baron? That questioned was soon followed by another thought she never thought she’d ever think of: the Queen of House Blue Tang isn’t the only queen who could birth Hosea’s child.
